The End Is Nigh (Working Title) – A One-Act Play Evening
Posted on May 7th, 2025 by Alex Sigrist

Fifteen years ago, a group of passionate thespians came together with the simple idea of
telling their own stories on stage. From that very first production, Making History, to
countless shows, readings, short plays, monologues, improv theatre and even a film, the
Caretakers have grown into a community that thrives on imagination, fun, and the joy of
creating theatre together.
This year, we are excited to celebrate our 15th anniversary – a milestone that fills us with
gratitude. To our audiences: thank you for cheering, for clapping and letting our stories move
you. To our members: thank you for your words, your voices, your hands, your endless
energy and creativity. Without you, these fifteen years would never have been possible.
But as much as anniversaries call us to reminisce, they also invite us to look ahead. Thus,
we are excited to announce our brand-new production:
“The End is Nigh” (working title)
True to our tradition, the plays will be written and performed by our members. The title also
sets the stage for the ominous ending that is ever present. But in true Caretakers fashion,
we can’t resist giving it a playful twist. After all, nothing ever truly ends; every ending carries
within it the spark of a new beginning . Our selection of plays explores this theme in its own
way:
